Target, Recruit and Walk-On, explained

Target

The marks that typically grant a full-ride scholarship, depending on school funding.

Recruit

The range where coaches typically start recruiting conversations and scholarship discussions begin. Not a guarantee.

Walk-On

The minimum mark required to earn a spot on the team.

How the levels are set

134 schools publish their own standards. Those are marked ★ official and checked mark for mark against the school's site. For every other school, the levels come from its conference's 2026 results. In NCAA D1 and D2, Target is the 8th best mark in the conference, Recruit the 15th and Walk-On the 25th. In NCAA D3 and NAIA, Target is a top 8 conference mark and Walk-On the 40th. Junior colleges (NJCAA) compete nationally, so their levels come from the national list: Target is the 30th best mark in the country, Recruit the 75th and Walk-On the 150th.
